Introducing...
Supporting Fostering & Adoption Families
A complete, comprehensive program to feeling confident and prepared to change these families' lives.
Standard sleep training methods often fall short or trigger trauma responses in children with foster or adoption backgrounds. This certification teaches you the neurobiology of trauma, how attachment works, and how to create felt safety before gently introducing sleep habits.
What's inside
Here's What We'll Cover
Brain Development & Trauma
Learn how trauma physically rewires the developing brain, what toxic stress does to specific brain structures, and why sleep challenges in fostered and adopted children are neurobiological, not behavioral.
Felt Safety & Attachment
Understand the attachment cycle, recognize different attachment styles, and learn why building trust and felt safety must come before any sleep work begins.
Common Sleep Issues
Identify the specific sleep challenges fostered and adopted children face—from bedtime resistance and night terrors to grief and anxiety—and learn how to assess if a family is ready for sleep work.
Sleep Techniques and Special Considerations
Discover trauma-informed sleep strategies that work for this population, including when to be more hands-on, how to adapt traditional methods, and special considerations for different trauma histories.
Case Scenarios Explained
Walk through real-life case studies to see how trauma-informed sleep consulting works in practice, including how to navigate complex situations and make clinical decisions.
Final Project + Exam
Demonstrate your mastery of the material through a comprehensive final project and exam, earning your Foster & Adoption Sleep Consulting Certification.
